Badminton
Posted on June 4th, 2008 at 5:13 pm by kaitlyn37 and

Today at 1:30pm our class had a badminton lesson. Our classes session had to be shorter than all the other classes. My friend Sarah does badminton lesson so I wanted to face her and see if I could bet her. Firstly we had to try get the ball as close to roof as possible without hitting it. We had to do that for about five minutes.  After a couple of minutes I got the hang of it and could just about hit the roof. He then made us get partners and hit over the net ten times. Obviously I picked Sarah we did some really high hits but I hardly could get my serves over the net. again he stopped us and we had to change game because we were running out of time. This time we had to get into groups of six except three people which went on the three courts. We played singles Patrick was the person to beat, we played for five minutes and Patrick ended up winning. The last activity we did was our whole class split into two teams and we played each other. I found it fun except Ryan was in front of me and he is really tall and when the ball came towards me he would hit it. I really enjoyed the lessons I am thinking about starting lessons on Wednesday’s.

Art

Friday the 16th of may we had our final art lesson. For art we were making masks. Before we started to make our masks I had a picture in my head of what it was going to look like it looked something like this but a full head.

like-this.jpg

Along the process it ended up a lot different and had no picture in my head. Now it was the last day of art and we had to finish, all I had to do is repaint the mask, put glitter along the top, repaint some of the back-round and stick a whole lot of feathers on. So I did everything quickly and all I had left was to put my feathers on. I asked my teacher for my feathers and she said their was only a blue and pink I could use. The bad news was that my mask was purple and grey. I went along with the flow and my friend and I put the feathers on. Their was another bad thing we had to use a hot glue gun and my friend and I are very clumsy so we burn’t ourselves lots and lots of time. I really like my mask because its crazy looking. You might think it ugly but to me its wacky and beautiful.

Netball
Posted on May 10th, 2008 at 7:05 pm by kaitlyn37 and

I woke up at about 8:20am and ran downstairs to get ready for netball even though my  game wasn’t till 2:00pm. Grabbing an up and go out of the fridge I sat down and watched T.V. After a Couple of hours I decided to get ready for netball. So I got changed, checked I had no jewellery on, cut my nails, brushed my teeth and brushed my hair when my sister said I had to go to town to help Andrew( her boyfriend) get a charm for his mum for mothers day.At quarter to one he had decided what one he wanted so he got it and we left for netball. When we got to netball it was only like one o’clock and my game wasn’t until two. I decided to watch my coach play netball but her game finished at ten past one so I couldn’t find anyone to talk to when I saw my cousin. We talked for like 20minutes when I saw most of my team was here. I went where all my team mates were and we started warming up. At two the buzzer went , it was our time to start playing netball. At the end of the first quarter we were wining 9-1. But they had a good second quarter and court up. After the third quarter we were losing 14-22. When the game finished we lost 21-26.

High Ropes
Posted on April 14th, 2008 at 9:01 pm by kaitlyn37 and

When we arrived at the high ropes I went to pat the horses across the fence when I fell down a ditch.I got out and we had to go see our instructor. first up we started with some games and then it was time to do some trust exercises. We had to fall back into our partners hands and they would push us back up. Then we stood on some stable logs and fall backwards into every-ones arms, it was extremely scary. One other trust exercise I liked was being blind folded and going through an obstacle even though Sarah made me crash into a pole. After the trust exercises we had lunch and now it was time to go on the high ropes. Firstly we put on our harnesses and helmets. We then climbed up the post. The first high rope I went on was a three wired on which really wobbly. Secondly I went on a climbing one which twisted and turned the whole time which made it hard. Lastly I went on a tyre one which you had to swing from tyre to tyre.

Danny The Champion Of the World

Danny’s mom died when he was just a baby and so Danny’s father was left to take care of him. They owned a petrol station where Danny’s dad worked fixing cars. They lived in a caravan. Danny loved engines and at an early age knew his way around one well enough to be able to help his dad. A man named Mr. Hazell owned all the land in the area except the garage owned by Danny and his dad. But he wanted that too, this caused conflict between them. Danny and his dad poached pheasants from Mr. Hazell’s land. One night Danny’s dad fell down a hole and broke his leg. Danny rescues him but this is just before the pheasant shoot Mr. Hazell has organized where Danny’s dad had wanted to make a fool of him. However with his leg broken he had to rely on Danny’s help to manage to pull off his plans. They come up with a great plot to show Mr. Hazell up in front of his friends. But not all goes to plan!

This was a very interesting book and made me want to carry on reading. It had a good sense of humor such as when Danny’s father fell down the hole and a young boy has to save him. This was a very good book. I highly recommend it for boys of 10 years and over but not so much a girl. I thought it was a remarkable story nut again I thought more so for boys. It was very exciting and I think it was an attention-grabbing book. I think most children should read this book.
